a friday

Today was another day of UNI!!!  I had work at Minmaya today, so I took the train and it was really foggy this morning.  The view was still beautiful as always.  

At school today we worked on the school's Nebuta float.  The school's Nebuta festival will be in September, which is actually fast approaching!  Nebuta is so cool to me and the fact that everyone in the school works hard together to make such a beautiful work of art is amazing!

Then of course, the highlight of my day was receiving my tray of uni!  I paid ¥1500, which is less than $15 for 100g of super fresh uni!  I actually had forgotten I placed an order last week, but when I got to school it was waiting for me in the fridge. I was so happy. 

My friend's mother-in-law had recently passed away, so I went to visit the house to offer condolences and a gift.  I also brought some of my uni to share with her and her husband.  (How generous of me, right?)  In the end, we invited a couple other friends who live close by, and had a proper drinking party.  We also prepared some scallops and ate it as sashimi!  It was my first time using the scallop shucking tool--it was so convenient.  I will definitely buy one.  We ended up staying over until late again talking about so many things from love to English education to politics.  It was a really nice time.
